GHOST DRAWING GAME
This roll and draw ghost game is the perfect mix of creativity, learning, and spooky fun. Children roll a dice to decide which features to add to their ghost, making each drawing unique and sometimes a bit silly. Each child will take 4 turns rolling the dice to determine what body, eyes, mouth and accessories their ghost will have.
This game sparks imagination, but also supports important skills like number recognition, turn-taking, fine motor practice, and following directions. As well as giving children lots of opportunities to get creative as they draw each feature.
The game is a complete game of chance and there's no winners or losers so children can just focus on having fun and getting creative. If your children like this game then I also have a roll a ghost game with cut & paste templates which is great for practicing scissor skills.
What you'll need:
- White paper
- Game template
- Pens & pencils
- Dice
The best part about this ghost drawing game is that there's minimal supplies needed. Simply print off a copy of the game template, grab a pencil and a dice and you're good to go. You can use any dice you like, we used one of these foam dice which are great for young kids and come in bulk for classrooms.
HOW TO PLAY ROLL & DRAW GHOST GAME
Roll 1. Roll the dice to determine what body shape your ghost will have. Draw the body that corresponds with the number on the dice.
Roll 2. Roll the dice to determine what eyes your ghost will have. Draw the eyes {or glasses} that correspond with the number on the dice.
Roll 3. Roll the dice to determine what mouth your ghost will have. Will it be happy, cheeky or shocked? Draw the mouth that corresponds with the number on the dice.
Roll 4. Roll the dice to determine what accessory your ghost will have. Will your ghost have a fancy hat, tie or moustache? Draw the accessory that corresponds with the number on the dice.
5. Outline and colour in your finished ghost {optional}. Once you've done all of the rolls of the dice and your ghost is finished you can go over it in pen or markers to make it more defined, and colour in features like the eyes, tongue or tie {depending which images you end up with}. Once you've finished one ghost, start again and draw some more.
