Do you want to do activities with your kids each day but you have no idea where to start?
There's lots of parents in exactly the same position, and teachers looking for curriculum and weekly theme inspiration, which is why I've put together monthly play activity schedules for the entire year. Below you'll find all of the monthly play calendars to make it easy for you to create a month of fun for your kids at home, or in the classroom, no matter what time of the year it is.
The play activity calendars include activities that can easily be done using items from around your home {or classroom} and you can substitute items to make it suit what you have on hand. If you want to be fully prepared I've also set up an Amazon supply lists that include all of the main items needed for every activity.
You'll notice there are no activities listed for weekends, this is deliberate to cater for teachers and to allow parents time to catch up on any activities you may have missed during the week if your children have been sick or your schedule hasn't allowed you to complete them. The weekend is also a great time for free play and family time.
MONTHLY PLAY CALENDARS
Each monthly post includes detailed explanations of every activity as well as how to modify them for children of different ages and some extension activities you can do if you're looking for additional ideas. Feel free to use the activities as a general outline for the month, or you can pick and choose the ones that appeal to your children.

February Play Calendar

February is the month of love with Valentine's Day, new beginnings celebrating the year of the horse and back to school for those in the southern hemisphere. To incorporate all of these events, the February play calendar features heart, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year and alphabet themed ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. The activities include a mix of art and craft, sensory, science and play ideas as well as books to read aloud during the month.
These play calendars will be updated with 2026 versions, however you can still use the previous versions as theme inspirations to plan your upcoming curriculums or homeschool activities.
March Play Calendar
In March we'll celebrate St Patrick's Day, Easter {yep it's super early this year} and if you're in America, Read Across America Day. The March activity calendar focuses on St Patrick's Day, rainbows and Easter themed ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. The activities include a mix of art and craft, sensory, science and play ideas as well as books to read aloud during the month.
April Play Calendar
Easter just sneaks into April this year and then there's Earth Day on April 22nd. The April play calendar focuses on egg, flower, Earth Day and bird themed ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. The activities include a mix of art and craft, sensory, science and play ideas as well as books to read aloud during the month.
May Play Calendar
The May activity calendar focuses on flowers, Mother's Day, butterfly and bug themed ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. There's also a bonus Stars Wars activity for May the 4th. June Play Calendar {Winter}
The June Winter activity calendar is designed for those living in the Southern hemisphere and focuses on snow, arctic and snowman themed ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. The activities include a mix of art and craft, sensory, science and play ideas as well as books to read aloud during the month.
June Play Calendar {Summer}
The June Summer activity calendar is designed for those living in the Northern hemisphere and focuses on ocean, Father's Day, ice cream and outdoor play ideas for toddlers, preschoolers and school kids. June 8th is world ocean day and June 18th is Father's Day. The activities include a mix of art and craft, sensory, science and play ideas as well as books to read aloud during the month.
