Tomorrow you are 2

Dear bub,

I can't believe that tomorrow you are 2. It feels like you were just a little baby only yesterday. Then other days I can't imagine you ever being a baby because you're so grown up. You are growing into such a big little girl right before my eyes.

You have learnt so much in two short years.

You now talk all the time and even though sometimes it doesn't sound like real words, I usually know what you mean. You know a few colours now and your favourites seem to be gween and lellow. And occasionally wed.

Your favourite shows are cheorge {curious george} and the nanis {bananas in pyjamas} and we watch them over and over and over and if I forget you point to the veeee and yell NANIS! And you love to watch miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing {bing} on abc.

Talking has come in very handy because you can tell me when you're huuuurt and a simple mummy kiss still makes it all better. In fact I think sometimes you pretend you're hurt just to get the kiss. You've started saying thankooo every time we give you something {unprompted} which makes me think that maybe we're doing something right as parents afterall. You also ask for tuddles all day which I love.

I will never ever get sick of your cuddles.

You have sooooo much energy. I need to survive off copious amounts of tea to keep up with you, but you just seem to have this endless supply. I wish I had as much energy as you. Although all that energy means we seem to be on the cusp of you giving up day sleeps and I'd really, really, really love it if you could hold onto those for a little bit longer. Trust me sleep is actually pretty dam awesome and one day you'll value it as much as I do.

You are very much into pretend play now. You come up with all sorts of scenarios for your toys and they now have conversations while you play. Its so nice to watch your imagination unfolding. I can't wait to give you your play kitchen tomorrow because I know we'll have hours of fun playing with it.

I'm so looking forward to your birthday tomorrow even though it apparently means we're entering into the terrible 2's. Just quietly I think we've been there for months already. You certainly aren't shy about throwing tantrums and getting your point across any way possible. Although it can be frustrating at the time, I'm actually rather proud of the fact that you're such a head strong little miss.

I so love being your mum and I'm loving the little person you're becoming. Your personality is infectious. You make me smile and laugh every day {and occasionally cry but that's ok}. You're my little buddy and we do almost everything together and I wouldn't have it any other way. The last two years have been the best of my life because you've been in it, and we still have many more to come.
