Everyone's scared of the dark right? At least at some point. I know I was petrified of the dark as a child and it seems bub's not fond of the dark either. I can't really blame her.
Luckily I'd always planned to have a night light since before she was born so she's never had to go to sleep in the pitch black dark. Of course we've gone through quite a few night lights since she was born. A couple because the batteries would die after a ridiculously short amount of time and a couple that she didn't like. We've recently added the new Dreambaby® ladybug night light to her room and she's quickly fallen in love with it.
I mean why wouldn't she, how cute is it? Its one of the cutest night lights I've ever seen. I don't think she'd ever actually seen a ladybug before we opened the night light so it was interesting to see how she'd react. She grabbed it off me straight away and started making it walk all over her little table. Clearly she didn't care that it was a night light at this point {I hadn't even had a chance to put the batteries in yet} she just thought it was a new toy and an awesome toy at that. The cartoon style eyes really attracted her attention straight away.
Once she finally gave it back to me and I was able to put the batteries in {it takes 3xAA's} we finally got to check out the night light as an actual light. It gets even cuter when the light is on. The top of the shell glows red and the eyes and the side of the ladybug glow white. It provides a nice soft glow in her bookcase.
The light turns on via the black button on the top which is really easy for kids to operate. Bub turns the light on herself each night when she goes to bed. As soon as we walk into her room she says "laly" {lady} because she wants me to hand her the night light to turn on. The light has a timer that automatically turns it off after 30 minutes which saves battery power. It can also be turned off earlier by pressing the button again. We just leave it on for the 30 minutes while she's falling asleep. The video below shows the night light in action.
The Dreambaby® ladybug night light {$32.95} would make the perfect night light for children of all ages. Its easy for children to operate themselves so older children can use it during the night for trips to the toilet or if they wake up and get scared of the dark. It also has decorative appeal being a ladybug. It saves money by being battery operated and is also energy efficient with the automated off function. Bub loves having it in her room and I'm already thinking of stealing it later on if we have another baby for during night feeds.
Dreambaby® products can be purchased online or at Big W, Target, Kmart, Bunnings, Baby Bunting, Toys R Us and a number of other baby stores and chemists.

Oh my goodness...! I can't believe how utterly cute this is! My daughter is now waking up in the night (uggh!) with nightmares and I think a comforting night light would just do the trick (or at least help me from falling over myself in the dark when I'm getting her out of bed!). Thanks for sharing this great review.
ReplyDeleteHaha night lights are awesome for stopping us trip over in the dark aren't they. We have a sensor one in the hallway otherwise I'd probably fall down the stairs at night trying to get to the light switch.
DeleteThis light is adorable! Coming back to enter later x
ReplyDeleteI love this! Ms 4 has an ikea flower light on her wall - it's not a night light, it's too bright, but she thinks the small plug in sensor one is too dim. She loves lady bugs! Mainly because of Ben and Holly I think! This would be great because it goes off and she can press it on easily. Great product!
ReplyDeleteYea the little plug in ones don't ever seem to be bright enough do they. This one is pretty good for brightness compared to others we've used in the past.
DeleteIt would help so much with night terrors and waking through the night so much. The old one I had was so stupid I hated it as it was hard to turn on and off.
ReplyDeleteYes please,Ashley would be super excited to own a colourful glowing ladybug, much more exciting than the halo on our Angelcare monitor,he gets the giggles switching it on & off in the dark.Ladybug glow would make it more enchanting.
ReplyDeleteI need to get one of these for Maggie and Phoebe's room. I got a great night light for Esther's room from Woolies but I haven't seen anymore since. The ladybug is so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute. Probably the cutest night light I've seen {although we still love Charlie her owl one too}.
DeleteA cute night light for sweet dreams! My daughter gets scared of the dark.
ReplyDeleteThis was made for my daughter, Lauren. Ever since she was born I have called her Lolly Bug and by the age of 1 she was in love with Lady bugs! Her birthday cake was even a Lady bug :D
ReplyDeleteLolly bug - that's so cute!
DeleteMy son ( age 3 ) refuses to sleep in his room because of the DARKNESS . Dreambaby ladybug night light would definitely keep the Night Monsters out of his room which he claims to see in the dark.
ReplyDeleteI swore I could see monsters in the dark as a kid too :(
DeleteFor my daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe other night I was up late feeding and as I went to get the baby I stepped on a cockroach in the dark. With my bare foot. Horrible crunch and splat noise. Cue screams and frantic foot washing. Baby is now really awake not just snuffling. I’ve grabbed him and jumped back in bed to boob. Husband rushed out to find roach and it was gone!
ReplyDeleteWhat? How? I just washed it’s guts off my foot (eww). I can’t even… I’m so turning on the (night)lights when I put bub back to bed from now on. So grossed out.
Anyway, point is, this totally wouldn’t have happened if I had a totally cool nightlight to guide the way and scare away critters.
Ewww so gross! I'm petrified of cockroaches I would've flipped out completely.
DeleteI would love one cause these look like a great product,
ReplyDeleteproviding a bit of sight, late at night for my little ladybug!
To ensure sweet dreams are had. (Ern)
ReplyDeleteTo keep that wretched monster who lurks in the shadows and beneath the bed, away. He's scared of the light you know :)
ReplyDelete- Di.
To add a bit of light in my daughters bedroom, but not too much that it wakes her up!
ReplyDeleteI'd like it for my friend who is about to have a baby. Provides a little light for the night feeds and allows bub to settle down peacefully again
ReplyDeleteMy son is scared of the dark. This would comfort him with its soft glow, just enough to see but not disturb :D
ReplyDeletelee budge
This would be perfect for the girls' room. Now that Punky is not wearing nappies at all any more there have been a few nights when she has wet the bed because I think she has been too scared to want to get up and go to the toilet in the dark. She could have this beside her bed and then carry it with her to the bathroom for the light and 'protection'. And the the cute little thing could do double-duty when we start toilet-training Zee at the end of the year (or whenever she is ready).
ReplyDeleteOh it'd be great for her to carry to the toilet. I'm definitely using ours for this too once bub is toilet trained.
DeleteI'd like this night lights for me. Ssshh, don't tell anyone but I'm a wee bit scared of the dark.
ReplyDeleteHahaha
DeleteMy little niece sleeps over every other weekend. She is a bit scared of the dark. Im hoping this would soothe those scary feelings away :)
ReplyDeleteTo provide a dim and drowsy lighting environment for my bub while breastfeeding him in the middle of the night. Nothing worst than having a fully awake child from the bright lights in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteYing Ying TAN - tan_ying_ying@hotmail.com
I think it'd be great as a breastfeeding light :)
DeleteA ladybug to soothe and calm,
ReplyDeletemy little one, no more frowns.
The dark can be a scary place,
Dreambaby nighlight for peace.
My daughter won't go to sleep without a light of some kind on -- and this is so cute, and it turns itself off, too!
ReplyDeleteDigicats {at} Sbcglobal {dot} Net
Perfect for night feeds and not bright. The soft glow is soothing.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! So cute and great that the light isn't too bright. My little ones would adore this!
ReplyDeleteMy almost 3yo daughter is obsessed with ladybugs, She has pillows, clothes, figurines and more but she doesn't have a ladybug nightlight so she would absolutely love this.
ReplyDeleteShe definitely needs one :)
DeleteI would love one for my son. Gets very scared without the light on. This will keep the nasties away. Like that the light isnt harsh.
ReplyDeleteII love that its easy for children to operate themselves so older children can use it during the night for trips to the toilet or if they wake up and get scared of the dark. My kids would love the Ladybug.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favourite features too.
DeleteSo daddy is an Essendon Bombers tragic and ever since my now 3 year old was born, he's been trying to passively convince everyone that the little one is also a fan by giving his room a black and red theme. The little one has recently decided he's scared of the dark. A ladybug night light should help and will fit in perfectly maybe even break up the Bombers theme a bit!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm glad T isn't fully into a sporting team! No way I'd let him do her room in team colours. You're much more accommodating than me :)
DeleteMy boys love their sisters mega blocks and I find them in the dark almost every night when she cries out. Her lamp got broken after SOMEONE tripped on the cord so a battery light would be the go.
ReplyDeleteOMG mega bloks hurt like hell when you stand on them don't they?!
DeleteThe dark is not scary, but at 10 months old,
ReplyDeleteYour new big room can seem gloomy and cold
A glowing little light, can make you feel cosy,
So you snuggle up warm and in the morning be rosy.
Because it's just so damn cute!
ReplyDeleteAll my girls would have loved this for a night light.
ReplyDeleteMy little man loves a light at night and at saving him from frights this things alright!
ReplyDeleteMy son still needs a nightlight, and he LOVES Gaston the Ladybird from Ben And Holly's Little Kingdom, so this would be perfect for his room!
ReplyDeleteLogged into rafflecopter as Dianne Childs :)
Beside this light looking so cute, it's an ideal light for the kids to turn off themselves, when they're ready!
ReplyDeleteI would love for my nieces to sleep peacefully, not having any night time scary thoughts when waking up in the dark! It would allow them to wake up to the calming, cute face of this gorgeous ladybug light.
ReplyDeleteSince I was young my couldn't sleep in the dark, I still at 23 have to have a light on at night
ReplyDeleteSO when at night when my baby gets a fright, all they have to do is turn on is the ladybug light
ReplyDeleteI would love to have this little bug hanging out in the hall at night... guiding the way to the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, it would look lovely in my little ones room a dim sure he will love it!
ReplyDeleteThe dark can be scary, a toddler's bad dream
ReplyDeleteLight can help banish the monsters - they're mean!
The toilet can be hard to find during the night
It would be so much easier if my son had this light.

ReplyDeleteNot only do I have a thing for ladybugs, they're so cute, I alsoI have 6 little Grandchildren who regularly sleepover, the Dreambaby Ladybug Night Light would be a wonderful addition to their room to keep the night shadows away.
