I haven't given up on the little black dress though. It's just morphed into a different version. Perhaps it should be called the long black dress instead of the little black dress? I've always had a love of maxi dresses, even when I was wearing the pre-baby sexy little black dress, so its not a huge stretch for me to move from a short black dress to a long one. It also fits in with my new post baby lifestyle choices of wearing thongs everywhere and only shaving my legs every other day (whoops did I just admit that out loud).

Gone are the days of dressing to impress other people, now I dress for comfort and convenience. My new favourite

Bamboo is also hypo-allergenic, highly breathable, stretchy and did I mention soft! My favourite part is the feel of the fabric against my skin. And the fact that it glides nicely over the currently-possibly-permanently wider hips I've acquired. Its great for lounging around the house, but also nice enough to wear out. Of course you could dress it up more with the right accessories (but Im kind of attached to mine at the moment).

ReplyDeleteThankyou, you're too kind!
DeleteI love bamboo fabric. It's especially great for maternity wear because it's breathable! Loved meeting you in person today! :)
ReplyDeleteYea I wish I had it when I was still pregnant (they stock a maternity range but I didn't discover them until after bub was born). Was great to meet you today too!!
DeleteThat's a really lovely and comfy looking dress Toni.
ReplyDeleteIts definitely comfy Eva (like wearing yoga pants as a dress lol)
DeleteSuper cute dress and mama. Stopping in from SITS. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea!
DeleteBeautiful! Love it - and YES bamboo clothing is the bomb....as are bamboo blankets....bamboo plants.....bamboo flooring.....hahaha!
ReplyDeleteYes bamboo everything, I LOVE it can't get enough.
DeleteI do have a favorite Little Black dress and i love how it makes me feel when I wear it but I hadn't heard of bamboo as a material until now, very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI only found out about it after my daughter was born with her allergies and I started researching hypo-allergenic materials. So glad I discovered it because its so nice and has so many health benefits.
DeleteI have always loved long skirts but gave them up years ago. My retirement (only 3 days into it) means I want a completely new non-teacher wardrobe. 3 of my friends are taking me to do that at the end of the summer. I will look for bamboo and the long look. Enjoy Sharefest.
ReplyDeleteYou won't be disappointed if you try bamboo, its so comfortable.
DeleteThis dress looks super comfy! I too am all about comfort and would love this maxi but unfortunately I'm always way too short to pull off a maxi without having to go to added expense of getting it taken up. Oh and it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Mums Take Five Sunday Brunch. xx
I feel sorry for those who can't get away with maxi's, they're my staple outfit in summer.
DeleteGreat dress! It's funny how our needs change once we have kids. Can I bend over in this outfit? Can I sit on the floor in this outfit? Can I chase a toddler who has bolted towards the street in this outfit? lol, and the fact that it looks great on you is a massive bonus :) Stopping by from mums take five x
ReplyDeleteSo true! At least with a maxi dress I can do all those things - I found out the hard way with shorter dresses earlier on!
DeleteI wish I could carry-off a maxi. I am 5'4 and I look completely consumed by fabric wearing one! Plus baby would wipe her nose all over it like a big napkin! I am so jealous that you can wear thongs in Winter - SO JEALOUS!
ReplyDeleteIm glad I can wear thongs in winter too Jody because I dont really have any other shoes that fit anymore.
DeleteHa ha it's been weeks since I shaved my legs AND donned my LBD! Thanks for linking :)
ReplyDeleteI pretty much only do it when I know Im going to be showing my legs :)
DeleteI don't think I have tried on anything bamboo. I will have to though, the softness sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe weather was freezing today, my leg hair probably saved me from getting hypothermia! lol
Bahaha exactly its just added insulation!
DeleteLove the black dress...goes as a dress for anything...dress up or dress down. Easy to travel with and as bamboo is so soft it would slip in a corner of a bag. ...a bit cold for today though with our icy wind.

Its sooooo soft I love it. Need to find me some sheets so I can sleep on the softness all night.
DeleteThat looks great!! Suits you.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried bamboo maybe I should!!
You totally should Ann :)
DeleteI wish I could pull off a maxi dress, but I'm super short and just end up feeling swamped in the fabric, even with high heels. Thanks for linking up with my LBD challenge. Just love your LBD Style!
