Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Ok so I know its only the start of November, but I have to admit I've actually started thinking about Christmas already. I've even bought most of bub's presents and a couple for other family members. I know I have no idea what's going on either. It's so different to last year when it snuck up on me at the last minute. This year I'm all over it, I'm even starting to plan my decorations.

I think I'm more into it this year because Christmas is going to be at our place, for the first time ever. For years I worked in retail and Christmas was my only day off so it was never really that much of a celebration for me, it was more a quick rest between Christmas sales and boxing day sales. For years I've dreamt of celebrating it properly, and this year I'm finally going to do it. With bub being a bit older too I'm hoping to really get into the Christmas spirit and go all out with the decorations and we're even starting an elf on the shelf tradition. It's going to be so much fun!

So when Christmas Kingdom asked if I'd like to review their site I couldn't resist. Who doesn't love a Christmas decoration or 20? You can never have too many I say. A whole store full of Christmas decorations is right up my ally. Christmas Kingdom have a huge range of Christmas goodies including decorations, Christmas trees, toys, animated toys, lights, homewares, cards and wrapping.

Being able to browse from home made shopping for decorations so much easier because I could easily navigate through the categories to the items I wanted, plus I could browse at my own pace and come back to it if I needed to. The best part is I didn't need to brave crowds of other shoppers or wait in a queue to pay like you do at the shops. It took me a while to decide on my final items {because there are so many cool things}, but I finally narrowed it down to these ones - a bopping santa, white baubles, silver stars and some cookie cutters.

Cookie cutters {5pk + 2 individual cutters}
I've always had this fantasy of doing Christmas baking with my kids, but so far bub has been too young for it to become a reality. This year she should be old enough to understand the concept of Christmas so hopefully she'll be in the mood to do some baking with me. I grabbed a couple of different cookie cutters so we can bake cute cookies together. And if that turns into a complete disaster then she can always use them with her playdough.

White baubles {16pk}
This year I'm going for a white/gold/silver theme with our decorations and I needed some more white baubles to even things out. For some reason I've found white baubles hard to find in the past so when I saw they had some I snapped them up.

Silver stars {6pk}
My cats seem to have smashed the few star ornaments I've had over the years so it was definitely time to add a few new ones. Hopefully these ones will escape their wrath and survive longer than a year.

Bopping Santa
When I was younger my favourite Christmas decoration was a singing Christmas tree. We used to set it up every year at the front of the house near the window. It was motion censored so every time someone would come to look at the Christmas lights outside it would start singing. Mum still has the tree now and I still have a soft spot for it, so of course I wanted to get an animated toy. This bopping Santa is sooo cute, he shakes his bells while rocking out to jingle bells. See him bop along below {hover over the image so the play button appears}.

A video posted by Toni {Finding Myself Young} (@tones84) on

All of the items arrived in good condition, although the stars and the white baubles look a bit different to the images shown on the website. Overall I'm still happy with the items though and can't wait to start decorating the house {December 1st can't come quick enough this year}.

  1. i'm looking forward to my youngest daughter actually being able to be involved in our celebrations and decorating and having some understanding of the concept. She'll be 23 months at Christmas time and I know she'll be excited by the decorations and presents!

    1. Yep I'm looking forward to that too! Mine's just started understanding what presents are so I imagine she'll be super excited come Christmas morning. Although I might have to hide the presents until Christmas day so she doesn't unwrap them early.

    1. Lol I used to be insanely organised with our Christmas lights when I was in primary school. I used to do drawings of exactly where I wanted mum to hang them all then I'd make sure she stuck exactly to the plan. IT HAD TO BE PERFECT! Living in a complex now I don't bother with lights because nobodies going to drive around here to see them anyway.
