52 WEEKS OF MEMORIES | 44 - AWESOME

Sometimes the simplest of things can be the most awesome {especially when you spend your days with a toddler}. Yesterday that was definitely the case. I noticed bub was pointing out every single mark on the floor then telling me they were footprints and putting her foot over them. Firstly I had no idea she could say the word footprint let alone understood the concept of what they are. Given she kept repeating it I decided to put together a really simple activity where we could create footprints {since she was clearly captivated by them}. I grabbed some butchers paper and a put some water in a plastic lid so we could put our feet in the water and create footprints. She loved it and was so excited when the footprints magically appeared. Plus I was pretty chuffed that the water meant there was no mess to clean up afterwards {we will do it one day with paint, but I thought water was a good place to start and it was a lot less stressful for me}. It was pretty awesome watching her get so excited over such a simple activity.

  1. What a great activity to do with your little girl Toni and lovely that you were observant enough to notice her fascination with footprints. I just love the innocence of little kids. They remind us to take pleasure from the simplest of things! :-)

    1. It was crinkled up butchers paper I'd been meaning to throw away, but I'm glad I hadn't done it yet because it made for a fun little activity.

  2. That is so perceptive of you to pick up on her learning about footprints and to turn it into an activity!

    1. I'm usually lead by what she wants to do most days and I'm trying to work a few more activities rather than just random play into our day. Just happens that I had all the things to do this one when I thought of it {which is lucky cos usually I don't}.

  3. What a clever idea! I need more butchers paper, then we can have a go!
