52 WEEKS OF MEMORIES | 22 - YUM

With bub's numerous food allergies she doesn't get to enjoy treats like other kids do. Things like chocolate, ice-cream, most lollies and most packaged foods are all off the table due to her dairy allergy. Thankfully though she happily eats most of the fruit and veggies I give her. We've also found a coconut yoghurt that she can eat so she doesn't feel like she's completely missing out on everything dairy. As you can see from the photo she still gets excited about it and licks her lips when she sees it {wonder how long that'll last for?}.

  1. That's an adorable photo. Poor Moo can't even have banana (yet) but we did introduce avocado this week with success! Allergies suck but so thankful to find new foods for her to try all the time. That coconut was an awesome recommendation by you :) Thank you. Moo is lucky to get a taste as we all love it so much!

    1. Bub is allergic to avocados lol it was the first food we tried and she got really bad chemical burns on her bum as soon as she did a poo. She's started getting small hives from banana's too lately but I hope she's not developing an intolerance to them because they're her favourite food.

  2. I really feel for you and your kids. Allergies suck. I really hope you're able to find lots of tasties that agree with them both. X

    1. As time goes on I'm learning more about it and finding a lot more alternatives for her. The biggest problem at the moment is trying to explain to a toddler why she can't have food that all the other kids can have. I usually just take her food with me wherever we go so there aren't any issues. Its certainly been a learning curve!

  3. Very cute lip smacking. I hope her diet treats expand as she grows. Can she eat sorbet (non diary) my son's GF is dairy free and she misses Icecream.

    1. She gets some of my mango sorbet when I have that :) We have to watch what type of sorbet it is because she has a lot of other food allergies {especially fruit} but so far mango has been fine. I make her a lot of fruit ice blocks too where I blend up plain fruit and freeze it.
