Mummy Must Have Review | Papercake foil prints

I have a confession to make, I'm a bit obsessed with redecorating my house. Now that I spend so much time in it {compared to when I was working full time} it seems I can't help but want to make each corner of it pretty. When bub was little I didn't have much spare time to think about making the house look pretty because my days were filled with continuous feeding, nappy changes and washing and not much else. But, now that she's older and we spend a lot more time playing together I can't help but notice how bare my walls are. Apart from my sonny angel house of course, which I'll be adding to shortly as I've bought 3 more.

I've been really into quotes for a few years now so I ended up getting a few quote prints and an initial print for bub from Papercake. They specialise in gold foil prints, but can also do silver foil like I've got {you just need to either request via private message on their page or leave a note when ordering online}. I got a couple of different sizes of prints for my room, bub's room and bub's play corner downstairs.

For my room I got the "shine bright like a diamond" 8x10 print to put beside my bed. My thinking is it'll be a nice reminder each morning to do the best I can and believe in myself. I got it in silver foil to match the rest of the items on my bedside table. Eventually I plan on putting it in my office when I get around to putting that together in the spare room. For now though I think it looks really good above my bedside table.

I got the H "initially yours" print in 5x7 for bub's room in silver foil {although I had to take photos of it in my room}. I planned on putting it on her reading shelves near her teepee, but every time I tried to take a photo of it my little helper came in to grab it down. Consequently its now sitting high on one of her shelves away from tiny hands. Its a nice bright silver foil it just looks darker in the photos because its reflecting my bedside table.

Finally for her play corner downstairs I got the "dream big" 8x10 print in gold foil. I think the hot air balloon image really suits the playful mood of her play area and dream big is a message I want to in-still in her as she grows up so its perfect. I also really love that the letters in dream don't line up straight because it makes it feel more authentic like its been typed by a typewriter.

The Papercake prints range from $14 - $18 and are all printed on 250gsm paper so they're nice and thick but not too heavy. They can still be held up with washi tape or blu tack if you don't want to frame them {I framed bub's one because I didn't want her to destroy it in her room}. All of the Papercake prints are hand-crafted with foil and not machine made. Due to this each item is totally unique and may have some slight imperfections like flecks or creases. Mine have a few flecks, but I actually like the imperfections and think they add character to the prints. They do offer a guarantee that they won't send out prints if they're not happy with the quality so rest assured you'll still get an amazing print. Speaking of amazing prints, below are just some of the other prints available from their store {there's even more online and they're being added to regularly}.

ABOUT PAPERCAKE

Papercake is a unique business run by two very creative sisters. They've brought together their respective talents to offer graphic design, event styling, cakes and edible art. One sister has a flair for design and styling and the other is an expert when it comes to sweet treats. In addition to their gorgeous foil prints available online, they also create amazing cakes and edible art biscuits which can be ordered via private message on facebook or instagram.

I found out about Papercake from co-owner Cath who's in a home decoration group with me on Facebook. She turned her hobby into a business {with her sister} to generate income for her three young children after her husband passed away unexpectedly at the start of the year. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer in November last year and passed away just 7 short weeks later. Cath had been using her creative endeavours as therapy and has now turned them into a business to provide for her family. If you're looking to brighten up your walls I couldn't think of a better business to support.

As a special offer Papercake have put together a 30% discount off any 8x10 prints for the first 30 customers. Simply use the code FINDING-30 at checkout when ordering online via www.papercakeonline.com. Trust me if you love home decor you need one of these prints in your life, run don't walk though because the discount is only valid for the first 30 orders and expires at midnight this Friday May 15th 2015.

Which print would you choose?

    1. Pineapples really are all the rage right now aren't they. If I had any room in the kitchen to put it I'd get the pineapple too.

  9. These would be perfect for making a "framed collage" (whatever that's actually called) where you have say 9 images hung on the wall in a 3x3 pattern. I'm not sure what images I would use but it sounds like a neat idea in my head!
