52 WEEKS OF MEMORIES | 11 - HUG

One thing I was determined to do after becoming a mum was always show affection to my daughter. Both physically and verbally. I never want her to question whether I loved her. One of the biggest ways I show affection towards her is via hugs. I don't remember getting hugged or much physical affection at all when I was younger and I don't want her to miss out like I did. It must be working because already at a year old she comes up to me and randomly wraps her arms around me for big cuddles. I have to admit I love it as much as her.

This week we had a lot of mummy cuddles to make her feel better after she hurt her head {and scared the crap out of me}. Unfortunately they haven't been the most photogenic cuddles and a lot of the random cutesy cuddles have happened so quickly I didn't have time to snap a photo. So for this week's photo I enlisted the help of T to take a photo of us while we were having cuddles as she drank her bot bot by the beach.

    1. She's probably too young to get kisses yet but keep going with it. Mine now comes up to me and randomly gives me kisses on the lips :)

    1. Definitely. Although I wish she'd go back to sleeping in her cot all night because she sleeps sideways across my pillow and tries to push my head off the pillow all night.

  4. Enjoy those hugs now, while you can, and tell her "I love you" all the time like it is second nature. They will in turn pass it on when they are older, in their own relationships. It is such a great thing to hear.

    1. She's feeling better, but she doesn't want to go to bed by herself at the moment. She needs lots of mummy cuddles.

  6. I love this :) I find the hugs are fewer and farther between as my kids get older...but I cherish each and every one!

  7. Gorgeous. Isn't she a lucky girl? I didn't get overly affectionated as a child so I too have always endeavored to be a huggy mum and for the most part I am, and the boys request that too. It's such a special bonding action.
Hope her head is on the mend x
