52 WEEKS OF MEMORIES | 6 - FOOD

Firstly, yes I did totally time this prompt for around the start of solids for bubs. I have been waiting with baited breath for the time we could start solids, but have also been a little apprehensive at the same time. The paediatrician told us to hold off until she was definitely 6 months and had been re-assessed (due to her allergies) before starting her on food, because we had already had such trouble with breastmilk and formula.

The faces she makes when trying a new food are hilarious! At first its like what the hell is this you are trying to give me, then oh wait I might like this, followed by bashing on the high chair tray when I'm taking too long to give her more. Except carrots, she has decided she definitely hates carrots. She actually gagged and tried to vomit them back up and when that didn't work she pretended to have an allergic choking episode in the hopes I wouldn't give it to her again. It's funny how smart babies are.

We are now onto peas which is what she's having in this photo. I let her have a play around with the food once she's eaten most of it so she gets used to holding the spoon. She normally grabs the spoon, shoves it in her mouth (upside down so no food actually makes it into her mouth) and then bashes it around on the tray. The drs keep saying food is for fun before one, so we are having a lot of fun!

    1. Shes pretty good because I only let her play with it for about a minute or two so she doesn't get it everywhere. I love babywipes, they clean everything! And she tries to eat them when I clean her face!

  3. I love watching kids eat...very entertaining... Especially if you don't have to clean up the mess after!
